No one ever thought we’d get here, but after an already stellar year for Keanu Reeves, he’s back in front of the camera for the franchise that put him and Alex Winter firmly in the spotlight 30(!) years ago.
Bill and Ted Face the Music has started filming, and Alex Winter took to Twitter to let everyone know the most excellent news!
Day one. See you on the other side and remember to be excellent ??@BillandTed3 pic.twitter.com/BHFQfsW7bd

The story sees the pair, now in middle-age, having not yet fulfilled their destiny of writing the greatest ever rock song, capable of saving the universe and uniting all. So they hatch a plan to travel forward in time and steal the song from themselves. Can’t see any problem with that.
The project has bounced around development purgatory for as long as I can remember generally going nowhere. Then earlier this year Reeves and Winter popped up in a video on Twitter to reveal the film was finally moving forward.
Joining the two leads will be returning characters of Death (William Sadler), Missy (Amy Stoch) and Captain Logan (Hal Landon Jr.). Newcomers include the pair’s daughters Billie Logan and Thea Preston played by Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving. Erinn Hayes and Jayma Mays as Princess Elizabeth and Princess Joanna, with Beck Bennett becoming Ted’s younger brother, Deacon.
The movie is due to open 21st August 2020, written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, who wrote the original movies and directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest, RED 2).
