Cyberpunk 2077 physical card game Afterlife revealed

Ed Willey

After playing at digital card games with Witcher spin-off Gwent, CD Projekt Red has announced real-life physical card game Cyberpunk 2077 - Afterlife: The Card Game.

A post on the official Cyberpunk website states;

“In the game, you become Fixers — databrokers and masterminds of Night City. Your job is to recruit cyberpunks, equip them with gear, and send them out on missions. Each successful mission raises your Street Cred, with mission survivors becoming Veterans, imparting their knowledge and experience to newer recruits. In this chrome-infused world, Street Cred is the only currency that matters.”

Although described as ‘standalone’, it could be interesting to see if this fills the cyber-shaped hole left by Android: Netrunner which ceased production last year.

Tabletop gaming has certainly seen a rise in popularity in recent years but there are a lot of products competing for attention. CMON, who collaborated on the game, has a diverse portfolio including adaptations of Bloodborne, Wacky Races and Kick-Ass, so signs are promising.

Cyberpunk 2077 – Afterlife: The Card Game will upload to your local friendly game store in 2020.
