A petition has garnered over 20,000 signatures aimed at getting ’Netflix’ to cancel the recently released Good Omens TV series. You know the one Amazon made with the BBC.
The petition, housed on Christian site ‘Return to Order’ cites “the agents of good and evil as fighters in an arbitrary struggle devoid of meaning and truth”, and seem to be upset the angel (the excellent Micheal Sheen) and demon (the equally excellent David Tennant) are friends.
Oh and there’s the fact that God is voiced “by a woman”, the unquestionably amazing Frances McDormand.

Netflix and Amazon have both been having a jolly old time over it on Twitter, “Ok we promise not to make any more,” Netflix tweeted. “Hey @netflix, we’ll cancel Stranger Things if you cancel Good Omens,” Amazon replied. Japes all around.
Of course, this thoroughly British take on the coming of the anti-christ was originally created in the book by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, with Gaiman writing this adaptation for TV and acting as showrunner.
Seemingly amused by the whole endeavour, Gaiman shared the news on his Facebook page “You can’t actually make this stuff up ... Bless.” Can’t really argue with that.
