Paul Rudd joins Ghostbusters sequel

Az Joyce

Ant-Man is now officially a Ghostbuster! Well kind of, Paul Rudd has announced he’s joining the cast of the eagerly anticipated Ghostbusters sequel. The next movie is set in the original Ghostbusters universe and is being helmed by Jason Reitman, son of Ivan Reitman who sat in the director’s chair for the first movie back in 1984.

Rudd will join the O.G. Ghostbusters cast members, if rumours are true, Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver. Rudd is rumoured to be playing the role of a teacher in the movie, but only time will tell on that one.

The movie is said to be based around a single mother and her two children, with a focus on the daughter. This potentially follows the roots of the original movie, where Weaver played a single woman living in the most haunted apartment block the world has ever seen.

The Ant-Man star took to Twitter to announce his involvement, in a short video outside the original Ghostbusters firehouse which you can check out below.
